OUR Project LIVE – Live vest – Young's guide for surviving in Europe made its first step…

During the week preceding the much-awaited autumn holidays in Slovenia (22nd October – 29th October 2006), teachers from Italy, Portugal, Romania and teachers from our school called zelena hiška (the little green house) participating in the project gathered in Bucharest where we joined forces and did some rechecking and then finalized the stages of the project. We also made a plan for the current school year. The Norwegian colleagues could not attend the introductory meeting due to justifiable reasons. The project program was in need of a few changes since not all of the countries wanting to participate passed the required procedures of their own national Comenius agencies. Our work was done at the grammar school LICEUL TEORETIC ION CREANGA which was at the same time the coordinating school. The coordinator and the leader of our project was the physics professor, Mrs. Olivia Maria Jidveian, who is at the same time also an international coordinator of Comenius projects. Our hosts were very hospitable. The students of Ion Creanga grammar school organized a dance for us, the pupils and students of Liceul Teoretic Eugen Lovinescu prepared souvenirs commemorating our meeting. The Romanian teachers showed us the sights of Bucharest but also its less pleasant sides. They also took us on a tour across the beautiful Transylvania. We were able to see the Bran Castle, also known as Dracula’s Castle. Our hosts did not forget to present us their national dishes and music. The week of planning and social events passed very fast. What awaited us were months full of active work till the first meeting in Portugal.
